  • Dr. Glen Rieger

    Dr. Glen Rieger was born in Tulsa Oklahoma in 1953 but moved to Houston early in life. After graduating from Sharpstown High School he attended the Maritime Academy in Galveston then went to Texas A&M to graduate Veterinary School in 1977. Initially he was a small animal emergency veterinarian in Arlington TX, then worked on horses in the Dallas area for 2 years before moving back to Houston. After 3 years at the Heights Veterinary Clinic he opened Fairbanks Animal Clinic in 1982. The business has grown fast over the last 20 years and Dr. Glen now spends half of his time practicing veterinary medicine and the other half on managing the five doctor practice with 30 plus employees. His business goal is to help provide happy healthy lives for pets and people.

    Dr. Glen now lives in Montgomery, TX with his wife Angie who helps with the clinic bookkeeping. They have three grown sons and a daughter who have all worked at the clinic at one time or another. For recreation they enjoy boating on Lake Conroe and walking their dogs in the country.

  • Dr. Mark Rieger

    Dr. Mark Rieger, (Dr. Mark), was born in Tulsa Oklahoma in 1955 but moved to Texas as quick a he could in 1962. He grew up in Houston, (Sharpstown area) and graduated from Sharpstown High School in 1974. He attended Texas A&M and graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine in 1980. He worked for the Bellaire Richmond Pet Hospital from 1980 to 1997 primarily doing surgery. During the same time he was a full time staff doctor for an emergency clinic in Bellaire (Houston Veterinary Services) with a special interest in emergency surgery and critical care. He was also working part time for Fairbanks Animal Clinic in order to give his brother Dr. Glen a day off. In 1998 he began working full time for Fairbanks. He is now a general practitioner with a special interest in surgery and often sees referrals from other clinics.

    Dr. Mark is married with three kids, one of each (Blonde, Brunette and Redhead) all boys.

    He has a golden retrievers,  (Libby), one cat (Frosty) and two outdoor fishponds with koi ,goldfish and turtles.

  • Dr. Karol Sabo

    Dr. Karol Sabo graduated from the School of Veterinary Medicine in Kosice former Czechoslovakia in 1989. For the short time after his graduation he worked at the state farm as a large animal veterinarian. He moved to the USA in 1990.

    Dr. Sabo completed an Academic Review Program at Purdue University in 1995 and moved to Stillwater Oklahoma where he completed an Evaluated Clinical Experience Program in 1996. Since then he is an associate veterinarian at Fairbanks Animal Clinic.

  • Dr. Chelsea Byrd, DVM

    Dr. Chelsea Byrd was born in Tomball, TX and has moved back and forth between Colorado Springs, CO when she was 10 years old.  She graduated from Hirschi High School in Colorado.  Afterward, she attended Colorado State University and received her Bachelor's degree in Biology.  She remained at CSU to study veterinary medicine and received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2010.  There she also met her husband, James, and they moved together back to Houston.  She started at Fairbanks Animal Clinic in January 2011.

    She currently has 2 boys, Cason and Kaleb, and 1 little girl on the way.  She has two silly black Labs, Recruiter and Stryker, two cats, Doc and Dave and 3 guinea pigs.  She is passionate about helping pets and keeping them and their families happy and healthy through preventive care.

  • Dr. Deirdre Byman

    Dr. Deirdre Byman is a 2008 graduate of Texas A&M's College of Veterinary Medicine and joined the FAC team in 2009. Raised in Houston, she was inspired to pursue a career in medicine by her father, a physician, in the hopes of providing the same level of high quality medicine and compassionate care to her four-legged patients. She believes that client communication is the cornerstone to achieving "happy, healthy pets and people." Dr. Byman's interests include preventative medicine and surgery.

    Dr. Byman lives in Houston with the two loves of her life, her husband and daughter, along with their adored Lhasa Apso, Molly.
  • Dr. Amanda Hamelers

    Dr. Amanda Hamelers grew up in Houston, near the Spring Branch area. She attended Texas A&M University for her undergraduate, receiving a BS in genetics and also for veterinary school, graduating in 2004.  Dr. Hamelers is a strong believer in preventative medicine and also a big proponent for spaying and neutering your pets.  

    Dr. Hamelers lives in Houston with her husband Matt, also a veterinarian, her two children Anna and William, their Lab Mix Lucy, and 2 cats, Miranda and Pinkie.
